FAQS

I’ve never used an academic editor. Is this just for a thesis or dissertation? Should I use an editor for smaller projects? Should I bother using an editor if I’m a good writer?

Some level of editing is useful for every written project. You may be a good writer who does not have experience with longer or more complex documents. You may just want a final proofreading, or the assurance that you’re on the right track with APA style. You may be an experienced writer trying to juggle multiple projects and challenging deadlines. Whatever your situation, you understand that academic writing is a demonstration of your professional expertise. Use an academic editor to ensure that your written work reflects your professional skills and abilities. A good editor can identify the strengths of your work, the weak points in your arguments, the recurring issues with grammar or spelling, and any structural problems such as the need for better bridging between sections. A good editor can save you time and aggravation. Questions? Contact us at info@psychologyeditor.com.

I know I need an editor, but I’m a graduate student living on loans. Help!

Just let us know if there are budget limits when you book the project. We will structure our response to meet your individual needs, and your individual budget. This might involve responding to your document with a list of comments and suggestions for edits you should make yourself, rather than with detailed edits using Track Changes.

I’m an undergraduate student. Can you help me?

Maybe. Although most of our clients are graduate students and faculty, we occasionally accept projects from talented undergraduates. Email info@psychologyeditor.com with a description of your project.  We like to work with clients throughout their academic and professional careers. Keep writing!

How do we get started?

Send an email to info@psychologyeditor.com. Include a brief description of your project, your deadline, and any budget limitations. Within 24 hours you will receive an email with details on costs and turnaround time. Payment can be made by check or electronic bill pay.

I've scheduled the project with you. When will I receive my edited document?

Let us know if you have time constraints when you schedule the project. Most jobs are returned within 1 week, and many of those are returned within 3 days. If you need it back faster, let us know when you book the project. Booking in advance helps to ensure fast turnaround time.

How do I pay?

Pay with personal check or by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express). You'll receive payment instructions when your work is scheduled.

How do I know this will help me?

Remember, you’re in charge of the process. You tell us what you need when you book the work, and you tell us if there’s a limit on what you want to spend.  If we can’t do it, we won’t accept the job.

Are there any hidden costs?

There are never any surprise charges at www.psychologyeditor.com. You will be given a rate when you book the project, and you will be billed at that rate upon completion. Contact info@psychologyeditor.com for more details.

Are you affiliated with one university?

No. We work with graduate students and faculty in psychology, counseling, social work, social science, education, and public health/policy programs at private and public colleges and universities throughout the United States.
